What if we are fighting the wrong battle for our family and it’s not actually “Out There”?

So often we think our “giants” are “Out There”.

You know where that is. 

The television, the social media feed, the “news”.

Maybe it’s simply the unexpected exposure at a grocery store.

Maybe it’s the unwelcome encounter at school.

Maybe it’s the sidelines of the kids’ sports game.

Giant after giant. Battle after battle. 

Slaying the thing Out There that is against the ways in which we are trying to raise our children and keep our family strong. 

No doubt these giants exist. And no doubt they are scary.

They can be scary because they feel hidden like wolves dressed in sheep clothing.

They can be scary because they don’t feel hidden at all, but rather ready to devour us at any minute.

It can feel like we are on a battlefield we didn’t ask for, swimming upstream against a current we feel we will never beat. 

Yeah, it’s true. There ARE giants.

They ARE Out There.

And they are HUGE.

But what if there are other giants?

What if we have been so focused on the Out There 

that we have missed the “In Here”?

What if we are meant to beat the giants In Here 

    BEFORE we can ever fully beat the giants Out There?

What if the giants In Here are even MORE hidden?

Maybe they’re in our tone of voice.

Maybe they’re in our lack of commitment.

Maybe they’re in the way we don’t get past the surface.

Maybe, just maybe, they’re in the way we struggle to go all-in.

What if all our armor for winning Out There actually came from building up our armor In Here?

What if our HOME is actually our biggest battlefield?

Do you know your giants?

Write them down! 

Name them! 

Create your plan to DEFEAT them!

Take time to gather your armor!

Gather it from friends you’ve seen WIN.

Gather it from TRUTH you hear spoken.

Gather it from RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Put it on, go ALL-IN, and be victorious!

There has quite possibly never been another time than NOW to be sure our giants In Here are slain FIRST.

Very first.

THEN, when your battle at home is won, strap on all your armor and go confidently to fight your giants Out There.
