Episode 6 | feat. Kristi Hayes

“Be strong. Protect the Weak. Love everyone.”

These words written on a lunchbox note from Kristi’s husband to their son changed their world and launched them down a path to create a business called BE STRONG.

Lessons of action from “The Lunchbox Note” children”s book by Kristi Hayes & Marianne Booth

  • Eyes wide, light shine. NOTICE those around us, especially those who others may not notice.

  • Be strong in who you are. Know who you are and whose you are.

  • Lo\ve everyone, even those who may treat you unkindly.

Discussions on friendship with our children.

  • Be a good friend before you can have a good friend.

  • Notice the friends who are left out. Just because you aren’t being mean doesn’t mean you are being nice.

  • It’s okay for our kids to feel uncomfortable because it teaches them empathy.

What stories can we share with our children to share more of the REAL world with them and teach empathy.

The benefits of aligning ourselves with like-minded families:

  • Values are better caught than taught.

  • Encouraging one another in tangible lessons.

  • Holding each other accountable.
